Polish champion -supported by really active Movistar Team, well represented into final split with 'Jasi' and Biannic (14ª)- claims 21st top-ten finish of her extraordinary 2018 season.

Amy Pieters (DLT) went on a long, majestic sprint to win the 17th GP Plouay (UCI Women’s WorldTour), the 125km, five-lap course in Brittany (France) really suiting the Movistar Team’s strength as a block and helping them to get yet another great result with its classics star throughout the 2018 season: Polish allrounder Małgorzata Jasińska.

Perfectly covered at all race phases by an excellent Blue squad, with Lorena Llamas, Eider Merino and a great Alicia González as top helpers and Aude Biannic and Rachel Neylan following the diverse moves at the front, the double national champion paid back the Jorge Sanz-led group by climbing within the top ten competitors through the last two Ty-Marrec ascents. ‘Jasi’ even went on a short attack with 4km remaining, later staying into a 14-woman front group which also included a fantastic Aude Biannic.

The French champion helped close a gap into the final 1.5km by Soraya Paladin (ALE), and led out a sprint where Jasińska took 7th place, yet another great result -her 21st top-ten finish of the 2018 season, including three victories- to honout the Blues’ work in the last European WWT classic of 2018.

The day’s negative sidenote came from two crashes: those suffered by Llamas, with no physical consequence as she tried to get back to the front with less than 20km remaining; and an early one for Neylan, which had her being put three stitches to her left knee and still didn’t keep the Australian from finishing into the second main group.
