Lotto Belgium Tour (st. 1)

French rouleur from Movistar Team, Tuesday's brilliant winner at Flemish race's prologue, sits now second behind today's victress Lotte Kopecky (LTS).

It was an overall good job from Movistar Team on Wednesday to protect their captain at the Lotto Belgium Tour, Aude Biannic, during a fast-paced first road stage -119km from Moorslede to Dadizele- on Flemish soil.

The support by Gloria Rodríguez, Oyarbide, González -who sustained a crash during the stage, with minor bruises to her leg as a result-, Jasinska and Teruel helped the gold jersey holder go for the inevitable bunch sprint, where day’s winner Lotte Kopecky (LTS) took the maximum bonus at reach -only 10-6-4″ available at every finish- to overtake Aude in the GC after the Frenchwoman’s brilliant success in the prologue.

Biannic, who finished in 10th spot, sits now in second place (+6″) in the standings. The race overall should experiment slight changes at Thursday’s series of climbs in Herselt, start and finish point of stage two (109km), before the definitive, major skake-up at Friday’s Kapelmuur circuit inGeraardsbergen.
