Movistar Team back together at Rafa Nadal Sport Centre

Pre-Mallorca Challenge training camp

Blues' men's team, led by Alejandro Valverde and Mikel Landa, to enjoy - as in 2018 - the magnificent facilities by the name of the legendary tennis player and recent Australian Open finalist.

While six of their team-mates take part in the 37ª Vuelta a San Juan from Sunday, a ten-man expedition from the men’s Movistar Team, led by sports directors Chente García Acosta and Pablo Lastras, will be staying from this weekend and until next Wednesday at the Rafa Nadal Sport Centre in Manacor (Mallorca), in a four-day, mini-training camp prior to racing the Mallorca Challenge – the opening races of the Spanish road season – next week.

World Champion Alejandro Valverde and Mikel Landa lead a group which also features Daniele Bennati, Imanol Erviti, Jürgen Roelandts, Antonio Pedrero, José Joaquín Rojas, Carlos Verona, Nelson Oliveira and Lluís Mas. The list does not include Andrey Amador, out of activity for the next few days due to a deep cut to the point finger in his left hand into a domestic accident last Sunday.

It will be the second time –after 2018– in which the Blues enjoy the days prior to the Challenge training and resting up at the facilities of the Rafa Nadal Sport Centre, which also held a couple of ‘Training Camps’ (with sportive riders together with members of our men’s and women’s squads) in the last two years.
