Preparations for event's 2nd edition

Eusebio Unzué's squad kicks off participation at Tuesday's opening TTT in Medellín -12.18pm local, 6.18pm CET-, preceeded by multitudinous presentacion, press conference at their Antioquia hotel.

A press conference (video in Spanish) with its main stars in front of many local and foreign media, held at the Movich Las Lomas Hotel in Llanogrande (Antioquia) where they’ve been spending the last few days and which also featured the Movistar Virtual Cycling competition announcement, was the final preparation for the Movistar Team before the 2nd Tour Colombia, which starts Tuesday with a 14km TTT in and around Medellín.

The Telefónica-backed squad, gathered together this weekend as locals Quintana, Carapaz and Anacona rejoined team-mates Sepúlveda, Arcas and Soler, attended a packed teams’ presentation on Sunday, in front of tens of thousands of people, at the Atanasio Girardot stadium, where the fans were able to enjoy some of the biggest names in the sport.

Before that, the Blues took a measured, focused approach to the race -their debut set for 12.18pm local / 6.18pm CET on Thursday, twenty-fourth team off from 28 squads at the start line- by inspecting together the finish up the Alto de las Palmas, on Sunday, and the TTT course yesterday. At this opening race, the group directed by Eusebio Unzué and Pablo Lastras aspires to leave a good impression and put its main reference in a good GC position before the mountains in the weekend.
