Liège-Bastogne-Liège
138.5 Kilometers
The 2019 women’s Liège-Bastogne-Liège bids farewell to the uphill finish in Ans after its first three editions, coming into the center of the Walloon city at the Boulevard d’Avroy to finish a race where big attacks already, usually happened before the sprint. It will also remain a very tough course, despite not having those final hills and not being so long –138km, way below the maximum 160km allowed by the UCI regulations-.
Five will be the main climbs of the so-called ‘La Doyenne’. The first two will be located halfway through the parcours: Wanne (55km) and Brume (64.5km) will make things harder for the peloton before the decisive La Vecquée (-48km), La Redoute (-31km) / Sprimont (non-rated; -28km) and Roche-aux-Faucons (-15km). The last ascent is followed by a demanding false flat / uphill, which could become even more decisive than the regular climb itself.
