Frenchwoman well supported by Movistar team-mates in finale, scores another top-ten finish before hilly stages, starting in Nijverdal on Friday.

Local hero Lorena Wiebes (PHV) again showed her superiority in bunch sprints at the end of another fast-paced stage two in the 2019 Boels Ladies Tour, a circuit in and around Gennep (113km) where the Movistar Team riders tried to split the peloton with several attacks.

Sheyla Gutiérrez and Malgorzata Jasinska were the Blues most involved in the moves, attempts which didn’t come to fruition. González, Rodríguez and Jasinska herself switched to supporting duties with a good lead-out for Roxane Fournier near the end.

The Frenchwoman took 6th place at the bunch sprint, her 15th top-ten finish of the 2019 season, before the GC contenders take over at Friday’s tough circuit in Nijverdal (156 km), with 5x the Motieweg and Holterberg hills.
