Both women's and men's teams of Eusebio Unzué's squad to get together next week in the outskirts of the Navarran capital; BALUARTE Auditorium to hold premiere of '40 Years of Cycling' documentary, Wednesday 30th, on the history and success of the Abarca Sports organisation.

Just over two weeks after taking the curtains down with Il Lombardia to its 40th season in the top tier of men’s pro cycling, the Movistar Team will start getting prepared for 2020 starting next Monday, October 28th.

The Blue outfit, sponsored by Telefónica for a tenth consecutive year, will get together in the outskirts of Pamplona for five days -through Friday 1st November– to set the foundation for what truly is a new era for the organisation led by Eusebio Unzué, with fifteen new riders confirmed so far.

Samitier, Jacobs, Elosegui, Hollmann, Jorgenson, Villella, Cataldo, Rubio, Alba, Cullaigh and current Tour of Guangxi GC leader Enric Mas compose the list of newcomers in the men’s roster, while Guarischi, Eric, Aalerud and Bertizzolo were confirmed in August as the four additions to the women’s squad.

The biomechanic tests are one of the key adjustments carried out during the pre-season meeting.

Physical and health checkups; equipment fitting; official video and photoshoots; meetings with new and current sponsors; and organisational adjustments are the menu, just like in every season, for a pre-season meeting which will see its traditional schedule altered by what will be the main event of the week: the premiere of the documentary ’40 Years of Cycling’.

The 90-minute firm is a combined effort from sports channel #Vamos, from Movistar+, and the Telefónica-backed squad, a tribute to its greatest names and the commitment by all members, on and off the bike, which have been part of this successful venture since 1980.

The event, which will take place at the Auditorio BALUARTE, at 7pm local on Wednesday 30th October, featuring important authorities, riders and staff members from the current and older teams as well as the whole 2020 Abarca Sports lineups, is open to members of the press, with prior accreditation (Contact Form > ‘Press’). The pre-season meeting will not feature any other media availabilities.
