Telefónica-backed squad with good motivation after victories in Romandie + Asturias; brings Marc Soler as designated GC contender at Torino's start on Saturday.

The Movistar Team confirmed Monday the eight names that Eusebio Unzué’s squad will bring to the start of the 104th edition of the Giro d’Italia, first three-week stagerace of the 2021 calendar (Saturday 8th – Sunday 30th May).

Chente García Acosta and Maximilian Sciandri will conduct the Telefónica-backed squad’s roster in Italy, featuring Marc Soler (ESP), Matteo Jorgenson (USA), Einer Rubio (COL), Nelson Oliveira (POR), Dario Cataldo (ITA), Albert Torres (ESP), Davide Villella (ITA) and Antonio Pedrero (ESP).

Soler, who won a stage at the recent Tour de Romandie -and finished in 4th place overall-, will lead a group that comes into the start will great motivation after their performances in Switzerland and the Vuelta a Asturias, where Pedrero and Rubio made it into the top places (2nd and 5th, respectively).
