Analysis

After a well-deserved rest following the Giro Donne and the Olympics, Emma Norsgaard will be back with her Movistar Team at an always-intriguing, fast-paced, technical Simac Ladies Tour. That’s the new moniker of what has formerly been known as Boels Ladies Tour and could be considered the national tour of the Netherlands, one of the three last WWT stageraces for the Blues in 2021.

The route suits well the Dane’s racing style, with two time trials that include a 2.4km prologue in Ede (Tuesday 24th) and a 22.2km ITT in and around Gennep (Thursday 26th), both suited to specialists. All other stages, even if always made harder by winds, fast speeds and road furniture, could see a sprint happening in Hardenberg (Wednesday 25th), Weert (Friday 27th) and a hillier weekend, more open to attacks, in Sweikhuizen (Saturday 28th) and Arnhem (Sunday 29th).
