‘El Día Menos Pensado’ Season 3 is coming: all details

Once again, Movistar Plus+ opens its doors, and screens, to the success, disappointment and intricacies of the Movistar Team, with La Vuelta and the women's team as main features.

Movistar Plus+ is launching on Monday 28th March the four episodes of Season 3 of ‘El día menos pensado’. #Vamos por M+ (dial 8) will be bringing cycling fans and viewers across Spain a ‘marathon’ of good content, with all four episodes in one sitting, starting at 10pm CEST. Nearly three hours of cycling and never-seen images and stories from the day-to-day life of one of the most relevant cycling teams in the world.

Before that, at 9.30pm CEST, #Vamos por Movistar Plus+ will offer a pre-launch show, with presenters Mónica Marchante, Joseba Larrañaga and Pedro Delgado commenting on this new season with words from the biggest names of the Movistar Team, including Eusebio Unzué, Alejandro Valverde and Chente García Acosta.

Season 3 of ‘El día menos pensado’ will leave no storn unturned. The four episodes get into the heart of the Movistar Team during the 2021 La Vuelta. We’ll witness the appearance of the women’s squad at the first edition of the hardest race on earth, Paris-Roubaix, and discover Emma Norsgaard and Annemiek van Vleuten, the best rider in the world.

The most famous names of the team, such as Marc SolerMiguel Ángel LópezEnric Mas or Alejandro Valverde, emerge to tell the story and explain what happened at the Spanish grandtour, with all the chaos and controversy.

EPISODE 1
After a sub-par performance in the Giro and the Tour, La Vuelta is the Movistar Team’s main goal for the season. As Valverde abandons the race, the team will suffer from internal disarray as Mas and López clash. On the other hand, we will discover Annemiek van Vleuten, the best rider in the world, able to achieve what has never been achieved by the team.

EPISODE 2
Enric Mas and Miguel Ángel López try the impossible to get to the La Vuelta GC lead, yet they find a very strong rival in Primoz Roglic. We’ll also have a look at why Marc Soler abandoned both the Giro and the Tour, and the reasons why the Catalan left the squad.

EPISODE 3
For the first time in history, we’ll be able to enjoy the women’s team racing the hardest event on earth, Paris-Roubaix. Over at La Vuelta, a long-range attack from Roglic ruins the Movistar Team’s chances. Critics arise, yet the team bounces back with victory on the Queen stage.

EPISODE 4
While it all seemed like the Movistar Team would finish with two riders on the final podium of La Vuelta, everything comes down. One stage from the end, Miguel Ángel López decides to abandon the race, with his team-mates in disbelief. In turn, Enric Mas confirms he’s a solid lead to fight for everything in the future.
