Action for research against kids' cancer receives 6,900€ through charity auction with support from Abarca Sports.

Spanish association ‘Kids against Cancer’ (‘Niños contra el Cáncer’) received on Thursday a 6,900€ donation obtained through the action of a Movistar Team bike.

The Abarca Sports-managed squad had given away this exclusive piece to Niños contra el Cáncer for a contest during their 2022 gala, held last November. In what has turned into an admirable chain of solidarity, the representatives of this bike’s winning group –Bestax Abogados y Asesores Tributarios- decided to donate the prize again, to be put up for auction.

Juan Pajuelo, winner of the auction, handed over the donation check during an event held at Madrid’s Clínica Universidad de Navarra (CUN) on Thursday. The event also feature Igor Alonso, director partner of Bestax; Eusebio Unzué, Movistar Team general manager and president of the Abarca Sports organisation; and Esperanza Lozano, CUN’s Madrid director.

Pilar Lorenzo, director of Corporate Social Responsibility for Kids against Cancer, thanked all parties “for this magnificent gift to our association. The Movistar Team has always supported our project, yet the help of Juan Pajuelo and Bestax has doubled this generosity. The commitment from both will lead to a further impulse to research and treat kids’ cancer.”
