Analysis

In their third, penultimate Italian stop prior to the World Championships, the Movistar Team will be visiting the Emilia-Romagna region to take part in the 15th edition of the race named by one of the most charismatic climbers in history. It’s not, though, really a race destined to be won by the lightest ones, yet still pretty demanding in its central section.

The route, nearly 200km in length, including two circuits -an opening one at Castrocaro Terme and a finishing one in Cesenatico, both flat- as well as a pretty tough, longer loop halfway through. Riders will have to climb to Montevecchio three times, the 4.5km ascent containing average slopes of 7%The final ascent will be crested far from the finish, more than 60km before the end, which means that the fastest riders have a chance to bounce back and contest the win.
