Le Samyn
102.1 Kilometers
Closing a long weekend of cobblestones and climbs in Belgium, the Movistar Team will be moving from Flanders to Wallonia, just next to the French border, to race for the first time at Le Samyn, an event which Sheyla Gutiérrez already won in 2017 and whose 102km contain lumpy, difficult roads where the race can be decided at any instant.
Following an initial section of about 30km from Quaregnon, near Mons, to Dour, there will be a 24km, three-lap finishing circuit. It features several short hills, such as the côtes of Audregnies, La Roquette (with cobblestones) and Les Nonettes (350m, also with pavé), to be added to other cobbled sectors in the Chemin de Wihéries (400m) and the Rue de Belle Vue (500m), the latter completed with just 3km to go.
