Analysis

It’s the first one-day race -excluding the Challenge Mallorca trophies- for the Movistar Team in 2020, and it’s also the biggest Spanish event suited to sprinters. This season, the Clásica de Almería will be holding both its start andf finish in Roquetas de Mar, avoiding – just like custom – all elevations near the end while letting breakaways have some space to play with a hillier first half of the route.

The 187km parcours goes through the cities of Berja and Adra in the beginning, climbing the ‘altos’ of Aljibe de la Cruz (Cat-2), La Alquería (Cat-3), Fuente Marbella (Cat-3) and Almerimar (Cat-4) before descending into two final, different loops around Roquetas. The coastal winds and the high speeds will once again be the main factors before the sprint.
