Liège-Bastogne-Liège
142.1 Kilometers
The international TV feed will start at 1135 CEST. It can be watched on Eurosport and GCN.
The women’s ‘cycling spring’ in terms of big classics comes to an end with Liège-Bastogne-Liège, a race of demanding slopes, perfectly suited to Annemiek van Vleuten’s abilities, where the Olympic champion will try, just as she did in 2019, to close her one-day campaign in style.
Seven rated climbs are part of the Doyenne‘s 142km route, starting with Mont-le-Soie (55km) and two of the ascents traditionally making a selection in the field: Wanne (63km) and Haute-Levée (72km) -no Stockeu this year-.
After the long climb of Rosier (86km after the start; almost five kilometers in length) and the relatively new, steep Desnié (99km; 1.6km at 8%), the riders will take on the two decisive ascents: La Redoute (2km at 9%), just 30km from the end; and the Roche-aux-Faucons (128km), with three different sections including an early part that is even harder than the Mur de Huy (1.3km at 11%).
