Strade Bianche

Almost without altering its mileage, Strade Bianche will modify in 2024 its essence as a whole with two major changes: less roads between gravel sectors and a final circuit which takes the number of ‘sterrato’ sections up to 12, from eight the year prior.

The first five ‘sterrati’ will be identical to the ones in 2023 -with only minor changes to the La Piana road, before 50km in- and the long, demandingSan Martino in Grania is covered with 67km to go. At that point, the usual lull / interlude from previous editions ends quickly, with only twelve kilometers separating the peloton from the race’s decisive double loop.

Colle Pinzuto and Le Tolfe -last section, 12km from the finish-, with tough slopes to be covered twice, are combined with Montaperti and two new sectors, Strada del Castagno (97km) and Montechiaro (111km, downhill). As the gravel ends, an always nervous approach to the city of Siena starts, the race decided on the brutal slope of Via Santa Caterina before entering the Piazza del Campo.
