Male Team 25 May
La Classique Morbihan
116 Kilometers
Despite the season having started for the Blue ladies back in late February, the Movistar Team did not have a chance to race on French soil until now. The 2nd edition of the Classique Morbihan (UCI 1.1, Friday 25th May), held at Aude Biannic’s native Brittany region, will be, together with the GP Plumelec (Saturday 26th), the first opportunity for the Telefónica-backed squad to take on those roads, tackling a somewhat different, exciting course.
The biggest peculiarity of the 116km event, starting at Pluméliau and finishing with two climbs of the Côte de Cadoudal -900m at 5% average, on the side used by this race-, will be the six dirt sections sparsed through the route. The longest one, 1,600 meters, will be ridden halfway through the parcours, and the last two ones, at each of the laps around the last circuit (7.7km), will contain 500 meters of offroad terrain, which could end up deciding the race.
