Ronde van Vlaanderen
267.7 Kilometers
The 2019 Ronde van Vlaanderen will be a very special one for the Movistar Team and as magnificent of a race as ever. The second longest race in the UCI calendar (267 kilometers), one of the most grueling ones and as crowded -or even more- as a mountain stage from the Tour de France. Plus, an example of perfect identification between a country with ‘its’ race, one they call ‘The Best’ / ‘The Most Beautiful One.’
Up until the first climb to Oude Kwaremont (119km), the race will cover flat roads making it easier for a break to build a significant gap. From that point on, there will be an initial loop of eight climbs, including the cobblestones of Holleweg (140km) and Haaghoek (145km) plus the famous Kapelmuur (170km), to later head towards the crucial chain of climbs to Kwaremont + Paterberg (212 + 215km).
All the wear and tear from the long distance and the previous ascents will pay when the second big selection point, the Koppenberg (222km), will be tackled. From there, riders will still have to face the infamous Taaienberg (230km) and the final climbs of OK / P (251 + 254km).
