Analysis

The second half of the Italian spring-opener weekend is always marked by the Trofeo Binda, the second UCI Women’s WorldTour raced to be tackled by the Movistar Team riders in 2022.

The route is exactly the same as last year’s, which means the peloton is up for a long course (141km), near Varese, between Cocquio Trevisago and Cittiglio. Three different circuits, full of little climbs, will be tackled, the most significant being the last one, which starts with 70km to go.

Riders will tackle 4x the QOM of Casale, 800m at 9%, and Orino, divided into two sectors with its second half over 1.5km at 6.5% average. The previous loops will include another different side of Orino, from Cocquio (4km, 3%), and the ascent of Cunardo (3.8km at 4.8%).
