Analysis

A taste of Flanders in the middle of the Ardennes classics. Before fully setting their focus on ‘Roubaix mode’, the Movistar Team will be taking on Wednesday 13th April on De Brabantse Pijl, a mixture of hills and cobbles where all climbers, classics specialists and sprinters have their chance.

A big portion of the 141km course in Belgium is covered into a three-and-a-half lap circuit around Overijse. The loop includes five climbs: Hagaard (300m at 10%), Hertstraat (cobbled; 700m at 4%), Moskesstraat (also cobbled; 500m at nearly 8%), Holstheide (1km at 5%) and the climb near the finish, known with the name of ‘S turn’ (S-bocht), due to its picturesque form from the chopper view. It’s 1.3km at 4%, right before taking on the finishing straight.
