Cyclassics Hamburg
205.6 Kilometers
Live pictures of the race will be available on Eurosport and GCN.
Looks like a new concept is born in cycling – the summer, post-Worlds classics! Jokes aside, in previous occasions, Hamburg was a first competitive reference for some of those who were aiming to do well at the World Championships. In this case, the German event will be -and it’s not a major thing- the opener to a great week in the country, with the Deutschland-Tour starting just three days later.
Always conceived as one of the biggest WT races for sprinters, the Cyclassics’s main breaking point is the triple ascent of the Waseberg, over 700m of tough slopes with a maximum of 16%. A first ascent is covered with 61km to go, with the two decisive ones coming with 23 and 15km remaining, respectively.
