Analysis

No less than 44 categorized ascents -for a very significant 2,200m elevation gain- are featured in one of the longest classics of the WorldTour, the Grand Prix Plouay, which has compromised over the last few years a long point-to-point section plus a final circuit, just over two laps, in the venue of the 2020 Euros and the 2000 World Championships.

The closing loop -before which roads are narrow, twisty, sometimes with gravel, even some short cobbled sections- includes three climbs: Rostervel (1.5km at 4.5%) and the consecutive Lezot (900m at 5.3%) and Kerscoulic (225m at 8.9%). The latter is crested just over 3km from the end, and should the race not be completely split at that point, the attackers will have a final chance to do so there.
