Analysis

Harder and more challenging than in previous years, ‘La Vueltina’ leaves behind for 2023 the different sides of its legendary Alto del Naranco climb, yet doesn’t lose any of its attraction and symbolic character. Starts and finishes will also remain unchanged from previous years.

The opener on Friday 28th will see the peloton taking on five short, sharp ascents, including La Cabaña (Cat-3), Fresneo (Cat-3) and Carabanzo (Cat-3) just before the finish in Pola de Lena. On Saturday 29th, the Queen stage will take the riders to Vallado (Cat-2) and El Acebo (Cat-1) near the arrival to Cangas del Narcea. And Sunday 30th, the final stage, longer than usual -almost 150km- and featuring Tineo (Cat-2), Escamplero (Cat-2) and Tenebreo (Cat-2) towards the finish in Oviedo.
