Analysis

The Movistar Team lines up at the 2024 Vuelta a Andalucía with a beautiful challenge ahead to try and defend their titles at the only two editions of the event to date. A route suited to surprises and for all kinds of riders, already a tradition in this race, will receive an ever-stronger peloton on Spanish soil.

The toughest terrain in the race will come on the first two stages, the inaugural day (Wednesday 29th) climbing towards the Hacho de Gaucín (Cat-1) plus endless hills and lumps towards the finish in Alcalá del Valle, while stage two (Thursday 30th) towards Otura features an uphill finish. More apt to a group sprint, yet still open to attacks, are the other two, at Vélez-Málaga -just 79km on Friday 31st- and Pizarra (Saturday 1st June), including the Puerto Martínez (Cat-2) just 24km from the end.
