Strong field of youngsters heads to France
02 March 2018

Paris-Nice lineup

Six under-27 riders -led by road captain Imanol Erviti- into Movistar Team's roster for the 76th edition of Paris-Nice, starting on Sunday.

As has always been the case in early March, the men’s Movistar Team divides its forces between France and Italy starting this weekend. Seven of its youngest riders will be starting on Sunday at the first European WorldTour stagerace of 2018: Paris-Nice (Sunday 4th-11th).

José Luis Arrieta and Pablo Lastras will direct a lineup made almost entirely of under-27 riders. Marc Soler, Richard Carapaz, Eduardo Sepúlveda, Héctor Carretero, Carlos Barbero and Dayer Quintana will be joined at the ‘Course to the Sun’ by the Blues’ road captain, Spaniard Imanol Erviti.

This year’s Paris-Nice parcours offers a tremendous variety of finishes. Two sprinters’ stages will be combined with three hilly days -the opening stage to Meudon, day three to Châtel-Guyon (Tuesday 6th) and a demanding ride to Vence (Friday 9th)-, an 18km ITT in Saint-Étienne (Wednesday 7th) and the two predictably decisive mountain journeys in the final weekend: the mountain-top finish in Valdeblore and the short, explosive showdown around Nice.
