We revisit – with shots from Thomas Maheux and Vélofocus – a brilliant display by our girls in the Tour of Flanders, crowned with a 6th spot by Małgorzata Jasińska.

The Movistar Team’s maiden top-ten finish into a ‘monument’ of the UCI Women’s WorldTour calendar, thanks to Małgorzata Jasińska’s splendid performance (6ª), was made even better by another piece of great news on Sunday: the squad directed by Jorge Sanz is back within the top 10 teams in the ranking comprising the best races in the world, which gives further proof about the Blues’ excellent start to the 2018 season.

The following pictures -some of them taken by Sean Robinson (Vélofocus) and Thomas Maheux– reflect on the efforts by our girls on a demanding day, with cold, rainy conditions, even with some crashes like the one holding up Alicia González – fortunately with no major injuries. The Movistar Team will be again racing today, with the GP Dottignies in Belgium.

Jasinska always kept the front of the group: completed the Kapelmuur within the best twenty in the bunch, then kept up with the strong pace at the Kruisberg ascent.

After the Kapelmuur and following a huge effort to bridge back, Alicia González and Aude Biannic remained into a second group from the Kwaremont, always near the Polish rider.

Jasinska struggled hard at the Paterberg -still reaching the top in 10th place-, yet kept full focus and determination and still had a shot at a podium finish.
