Analysis

One year after their debut in this same race, the Movistar Team goes back to the Setmana Valenciana turned into one of the most consistent squads in the UCI Women’s WorldTour. The Blue outfit will tackle a more classic race, less suited for resistant sprinters, with climbers having a golden chance to show their skills at the Queen stage up Xorret de Catí (Saturday 23rd), 4km at nearly 12% average with slopes up to 22%.

Before that brutal ascent, the race will tackle rolling roads in its opening stage inside the Valencia mountains (Thursday 21st), the ascents of Barxeta (Cat-3) and Barx (Cat-2) faced before Gandia’s finish. Another 2018 will be used in Vila-real (Friday 22nd), on roads perfect for the sprinters with no categorized climbs. Finally, the race will reach Sagunto (Sunday 24th) with only the Oronet (Cat-2) as an obstacle for the fastest ladies, quite far from the finish.
