An attack right at the start of the final lap around the famous Worlds course in Plouay, 12km before the end, rewarded World Champion Anna van der Breggen (DLT) with the victory at the 2019 GP Plouay (UCI Women’s WorldTour), after quite an active race from the Movistar Team in its final classic as a trade team this season.

Aude Biannic worked hard at the front of the bunch to bring back team-mates Patiño, Jasinska and Mavi García to the lead and chase down an early main break of elevan riders, also including Van der Breggen. As the attempt was caught, ‘Jasi’ and Mavi got themselves involved in the moves prior to the final lap, the Spaniard later representing the Movistar Team into a selected field through the last few kilometers and even going on the attack into the final Ty-Marrec climb.

Coryn Rivera (SUN), 2nd, led the 20-strong bunch home as García finished in 12th place. It was the last racing appearance in 2019 with the Telefónica jersey for the Mallorca native -expected to race the Tour de l’Ardèche with the Spanish national team-, leading a Blue outfit which will be travelling already this evening to the Netherlands for its penultimate event of the season, the Boels Ladies Tour (Tuesday 3rd – Sunday 8th).
