Omloop van het Hageland
130 Kilometers
It’s less of a traditional Flemish classic and more like an opportunity for the sprinters and puncheurs to go for te win for the first time in the North this spring. The Omloop van het Hageland will be the second effort in the opening weekend of racing in Belgium, after the demanding Omloop Het Nieuwsblad a day prior.
The 130km parcours goes from Tienen to Tielt-Winge, mostly comprised by a 15km circuit covered five times. The Molenstraat and Kerkstraat sections, preceding that loop, are the only cobbled parts of a race whose main difficulty will be the climb of Roeselberg, 700m at 5% crested with 8km from every passage through the finish.
– The same Movistar Team lineup will be taking part in Tuesday’s Le Samyn, live on Eurosport.
