Analysis

After making their debut at the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, the Movistar Team’s women’s program remains on Belgian soil to compete at Le Samyn, a short (barely 92.5km, with a final circuit around the village of Doue), yet really demanding race in Wallonia, with several sections over cobblestones near the French border. A race which, as it jumps towards UCI 1.1 category in 2021, will feature most of the UCI Women’s WorldTour teams.

The ‘secteurs pavé’ will be five, with categories being given to them based on their difficulty: Rue du Vert Pignon (*, 1,400m), Côte de la Roquette (**, 500m), Chemin de Wihéries (***, 400m), Côte des Nonettes (***, 300m) and Rue de Belle Vue (***, 500m). The latter’s location on the circuit, just 4km from every passage through the finish, could become decisive.
