GP Plouay
128.6 Kilometers
The Grand Prix de Plouay will be the last one-day classic as a trade team for the women’s Movistar Team in the 2019 season, since the Telefónica-backed squad is not expected to race any events in October and the only competitions left, except for the World Championships (for national teams), are stageraces -the Boels Ladies Tour and the Madrid Challenge, both in September-.
The French race held in Brittany -home of our own Aude Biannic- respects, contrary to the men’s race, its classic circuit race format it has followed throughout its history, with 128km and two different loops. The first circuit (six laps) includes the ‘côtes’ of Ty-Marrec (1.1km at 6.5%) and Lezot (1km at 4%), followed by a long flat after the two, while the second circuit, shorter and with only two laps, tackles the hills closer together. The final ascent to Ty-Marrec is just 3km from the finish line.
