Analysis

With a reinforced squad for 2019, the Movistar Team will be covering a full schedule of Flemish classics for the first time, debuting in a Omloop Het Nieuwsblad which reaches its 14th edition in 2019. After an iconic teams’ presentation -inside the famous ‘t Kuipke, the velodrome of Ghent- together with the men’s team, the Blue ladies will tackle a 123km course with all traditional ingredients in a Belgian menu: narrow, twisty roads; demanding, short climbs; and plenty of cobblestones.

There will be five cobbled sections on flat roads and ten ascents, four of them with ‘kasseien’: Wolvenberg (54km), Molenberg (66km) and a final combination very well known and easy to identify with the Ronde van Vlaanderen. The Kapelmuur (106km) and the Bosberg (110km) will make the final selection, shouldn’t it have happened in the climbs prior, yet the sprinters will still have a chance to recover in the final fifteen kilometers before Ninove, also a former finish of ‘De Ronde’.
