Analysis

The weekend’s racing in Almería -including the first-ever women’s Clásica the previous Sunday- will come to its close with an always fast-paced race, nervous due to likely coastal winds and featuring almost the same course as in 2022, over the ‘Plastic Sea’ towards the finishing circuit in Roquetas de Mar.

The main difficulties will again be on the first half of the parcours, with Celín (Cat-2; 46km), La Alquería (Cat-2; 83km) and Fuente Marbella (Cat-3; 91km), as well as the Cuesta de Almerimar (Cat-3) with 51km to go. After that, speeds will remain high in the run-in towards the double loop -a much shorter one to end- into the last 27 kilometers.
