Route

Liège - Bastogne - Liège (258.1km)
23 April

Analysis

The spring classics campaign comes to its end with the longest-standing Monument of the calendar. The ‘Doyenne’ will see the main change on its route at the final selection, with the two most decisive côtes now joined by the returning Côte des Forges (1.3km, 7.8%), whose position -penultimate in the program- and distance to the finish (23km) could make it decisive.

The route will otherwise be very similar from the last few years. Roche-en-Andenne and Saint-Roch will be the earliest ascents on the first half; the trio of Wanne, Stockeu y Haute-Levée will act as first selection from 85km to go; and the long Rosier + Desnié will make things even harder before the two most famous, and decisive, ascents of the race: La Redoute (1.6km, 9.4%), located this year with 42km to go; and the Roche-aux-Faucons (two sections; the first, official one over 1.3km at 11%), about 12km from the end.
