Analysis

As the road Worlds were brought forward to early August for this year, the Tour de Romandía takes advantage in 2023 to hold a mid-September slot that will see the Movistar Team race one last WorldTour event in its busy season. One where Liane Lippert, stage winner in the Tour de France Femmes, will aim at crowning a great season, full of consistent results.

Three stages are the menu of an Helvetic race full of interesting routes. Friday 15th around Yverdon-les-Bains, the riders will take on 3x the côte of Orzens (4km at 5%), the last ascent just 22km from the finish; on Saturday 16th, the Queen stage will see the peloton over Les Mosses (13km at 4%) and to the finish in Torgon (10.4km at 6.8%; flat last km); and on Sunday 17th, the finish in Nyon will loom after the QOMs of Mont-sur-Rolle (2.6km at 6.2%) and Le Molard (3.2km at 6.6%), the top 33km before the line.
