Analysis

The Movistar Team makes its debut at one of the longest-standing stageraces in the whole calendar, the Baloise Belgium Tour, almost hundred editions to date. An event where rouleurs, classics contenders and fast men all have their chance, right before the National Championships.

The overall classification will start getting sorted right from the start (Wednesday 12th), with a 12km individual time trial in Beringen. Following a first sprint chance in Knokke-Heist (Thursday 13th), the race will visit the Hageland roads on Friday 14th, climbing Het Rot, Kerkstraat (cobbled) and Roeselberg into the stage three circuit.

Stage four (Saturday 15th), on Walloon turf, will be the Queen one, with a circuit around Durbuy with the ‘côtes’ of Champs des Hêtres, Petitesomme, Hermanne and the so-called ‘Mur’ (1.2km, 6.2%). The showdown (Sunday 16th), as it’s already a tradition, will be a sprint in Brussels.
