Strade Bianche undertakes in 2024 a key step in its transformation and evolution as a top-level classic. For the very first time, the ‘sterrato’ race will go way beyond 200 kilometers, with the addition of a final circuit -another new feature- which will gather most of the attention in the event.

The race will be more structured in phases as a result of the change. The first six sections -out of 15- will be long, yet more manageable in terms of pace and difficulty. The first real selection will start at San Martino in Grania (112km) and Monte Sante Marie / Fabian Cancellara (131km). And the decisive part will come 160km into the race, 55 from the end, with that final, double loop.

The hard climbs of Colle Pinzuto and Le Tolfe -the last ‘sterrato’, with just 12km to go- and the new Strada del Castagno (175km) and Montechiaro (189km – watch out, it’s a downhill one) will further increase the demand of one of the most beautiful races in the whole calendar – and with such a finish: the Via Santa Caterina slope before the entrance to Il Campo, Siena’s marquee square.
