Setmana Valenciana starts on Thursday

Women's Movistar Team willing to start their 2018 schedule on a high note in Spain, following a fruitful, seven-day training camp in Alicante.

Gandía’s Serrano theatre held the teams’ presentation of the 2nd Setmana Ciclista Valenciana (UCI 2.2) on Thursday, with twenty-nine squads set to take the start as the Movistar Team makes its debut in the women’s international peloton..

Alba Teruel -who will enjoy four days of racing in her home region, including a passage through her home town, Benigànim, on Thursday-, Mavi García, Alicia González, Lorena Llamas, Eider Merino and Lourdes Oyarbide were cheered on by the spectators of an event preceeding the opening day of racing (118km), starting at Ròtova and finishing at that very same Gandía, with a lumpy final section including the ascents of Barxeta (Cat-3) and Barx (Cat-2).

Before the event, the Movistar Team’s riders covered on their bikes the distance to Gandía from their previous accommodation in Calpe, putting an end to their seven-day training camp just before the start of an exciting adventure for the telephone squad.
