The Italian repeats last year’s result in a short but intense race dominated by Movistar Team in the last kilometers but with Consonni (VAL) taking the win.
The 92km between Paterna and Valencia saw a late break composed by Jasinska (WCS), Laizane (EIC) and Molenaar (COB) that couldn’t even get a minute of gap thanks to VAL and Movistar Team control.

The break got caught at 10 to go and then our girls plan unfolded, two consecutive attacks by Sheyla Rodríguez, followed by another one by Lourdes Oyarbide. All with one target in mind, to reduce the number of units for the sprint at València.

All this tensions led to an unfortunate crash by Alba Teruel in the heart of the peloton. Even with some damage on her tights the local cyclist could catch up with the head of the race.
Into the last kilometer Bárbara was a little distanced from the first positions of the group after some consecutive narrow curves. Gloria Rodríguez and Sheyla Gutiérrez managed to bring Bárbara back to the front until the very finish straight in which Consonni (VAL) won followed by Bárbara and Le Bail (SRC).

REACTION / Bárbara Guarischi:
“All the attacks on the last kilometers were planned from this morning, the objective was to make the other teams work more. The only solution was that the other strong team (Valcar) rode scattered.
The teamwork has been exceptional to get this second place, that’s the most importante, the good job is there, results will come”.
