Analysis

The grueling Flanders Classics series will take the Movistar Team to Gent-Wevelgem to end their month of March. Differently to the men’s race, it’s a good opportunity for fast, resistant women, despite featuring most of the elevations and difficulties which make the event hard and characteristic in both cases.

The 137km parcours includes a loop that will sett the peloton tackle twice the climbs of Baneberg (48 / 90km), Monteberg (60 / 102km) and most importantly Kemmelberg (56 / 98km). In between, there will be two short gravel sections, known as Plugstreets, which serve as a remembrance of World War I.

The final ascent will be located at 35km from the finish line; up from there, strong winds -as it happened in 2018- could become a pesky, major factor.
