It’s going to be quite a France-focused month of May / June for the Movistar Team’s men’s squad, which up to five events starting – right as the Giro covers its final week – with the Boucles de la Mayenne, over four lumpy stages (always around 2,000m elevation gain), where the sprinters will still have the biggest chance.
The two most demanding routes in the race will be those on Friday 27th, with six categorized ascents and a circuit with two slopes around Pré-en-Pail -one which, when used at the Circuit de la Sarthe, used to be quite selective-, and Saturday 28th, over an uphill finish in Saint-Berthevin. The sprints in Andouillé (Thursday 26th), with two small climbs on the last 8km, and Laval (Sunday 29th) should be easier for the pure specialists.
