Analysis

The race that inaugurated a really tough 2021 early season for pro cycling and the Movistar Team receives the Blues again in southern France, over a really exciting course, with four very distinct stages that offer room to shine for all types of riders.

The Tour de La Provence re-introduces in 2022 a prologue, a 7km ITT in coastal Berre-l’Étang (Thursday 10th), before a sprinter-suited finish, with crosswinds as main danger into the final circuit, in Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer (Friday 11th).

The weekend will bring the hilliest courses in this year’s race. Saturday 12th, riders will be tackling a lumpy circuit, including a slightly uphill finish, in Manosque, before Sunday 13th brings the demanding, crucial mountain-top finish of La Montagne de Lure, over 16km at 6% avg.
