Analysis

Annemiek van Vleuten will start again her season at the 2023 Setmana Ciclista Valenciana, which marks the second stagerace of the year for a Movistar Team which will start enjoying the last season of their main reference at a home event.

This year’s course is divided into two parts. The first half features two sprinter-suited stages, in Sagunto (Thursday 16th) and Vila-real (Friday 17th). Saturday 18th will bring the Queen stage, between Agost and Altea, over Tibi (Cat-3), Tudons (Cat-1) and Confrides (Cat-2), the latter placed, however, 33km from the line. And on Sunday 19th, another tough, traditional route will see the peloton take on Barxeta (Cat-4) and Barx (Cat-2) close to the finish in Gandía.
