Analysis

Enric Mas will make his first WorldTour stop of the 2023 season at the 58th edition of Tirreno-Adriatico. Following a great first impression in Andalucía, the Spaniard will head with excitement and big hopes to the ‘Corsa dei Due Mari’, where some good terrain for his abilities awaits before the big challenges in the summer.

A completely flat ITT, with no technical complications, will open the race at the Lido di Camaiore (Monday 6th), over 11.5 kilometers. After that, three chances for the sprinters -Follonica (Tuesday 7th), Foligno (Wednesday 8th) and the final circuit around San Benedetto del Tronto (Sunday 12th)- will combined with three other GC-focused days in the mountains.

The stages on Thursday 9th and Saturday 11th will be quintesentially Tirreno-esque: short, sharp climbs in beautiful venues. Day four will feature four ascents to Tortoreto; the decisive stage six, on the other hand, will be an intricate succession of hills around Osimo. The Queen stage, day five of the race (Friday 10th), will take the riders up the Sassotetto, almost 1,500 meters above sea level.
