Analysis

Back after two years’ absence is the Movistar Team at the Mercan’Tour Classic, in a prelude, for some of their riders, to the two WorldTour stageraces they will be tackling in the month of June. As it’s always been the case in this race, it’s a tough mountain course, with 4,000m elevation in just 168 kilometers.

The long, irregular Baisse de Cabanette (20.4km at 4.6%) on the first half of the course precedes two usual features of Paris-Nice in recent years into the second part: La Colmiane (16.8km, 5,4%) and La Couillole (15.8km at 7,3%), overcome with just over 13km from the uphill finish in Valberg.
