Analysis
The most unconventional from the Belgian spring classics – down in part to the fact that it’s the only Walloon one with several WWT squads – sees the Le Samyn des Dames peloton go through no less than five cobbled sectors in its circuit, the last of which is completed just 3km from the finish in Dour. Plenty of ‘pavé’, yet no hills.
Vert Pignon (*), La Roquette (**, 500m), Chémin de Wiheries (***, 400m), Nonettes (***, 300m) and Rue Belle Vue (***, 500m) make for a very active race, yet one where the sprinters have a chance if the peloton stays together -plus, it’s just 114km long-.
