As the Olympic Games are left behind, the Movistar Team resumes its international schedule with the 81th edition of the Tour de Pologne. The town of Karpacz, just next to the southern border, will almost be decisive for the end result as venue for the first two finishes of the race.
A mountain-top arrival on Monday 12th, with the last 3km at 7%, and a mountain ITT over those slopes plus another 2.9km hill at 4.6%, on Tuesday 13th, will create the first GC differences as stage three on Wednesday 14th, with two Karłów ascents (7km, 5%) and a brutal finish up Duszniki Zdrój -maximum 14%- will set riders further apart.
Key to this race, as it’s tradition in the TdP, will the visit to the Tatr mountains and Bukovina (Saturday 17th), with slopes up to 20% in the Sciana area. The other three stages will be sprinting chances, including the final day to Kraków (Sunday 18th), with a tougher start and a flat finishing circuit.
