Male Team 26 Apr - 01 May
Tour de Romandie
711 Kilometers 6 Stages
All six stages will be broadcast live on Eurosport and GCN, starting at 1530 CEST.
There will be 10-6-4″ up for grabs at the finish of all four road stages, with no intermediate sprints.
An even tougher Tour de Romandie than in previous years is what riders will be facing at the 75th edition of the French-speaking Swiss race, especially considering a tough mountain TT has been added -16 long kilometers between Aigle and Villars, set to be decisive, on Sunday 1st May- that could probably condition how riders tackle the course as they always keep the final day in mind.
To reach that last hurdle, the peloton will have previously covered a traditional prologue (Tuesday 26th) in Lausanne, barely 5km in length, and four demanding road stages. Those finishing in Romont (Wednesday 27th), with an uphill finish, and Echallens (Thursday 28th) should be more open and easier for a group finish; the ones at Valbroye (Friday 29th), with two Cat-3 climbs near the end, and especially the brutal Queen stage towards Zinal (Saturday 30th), with 4,000 meters of elevation gain and four Cat-1 ascents, must be a contest between the GC favourites.
