Timetable

Finishing times vary almost every day, partly due to the fact that the first two stages use the same route and infrastructure from the men’s TDS. Saturday’s finish will be held at 8pm CEST; the ITT on Sunday ends just after 12pm; and Monday and Tuesday’s last two ones will be over at a more traditional 5pm CEST.

Analysis

The Tour de Suisse was one of the WWT races the Movistar Team had not set its feet on yet. The third edition of the event, held just before the National Championships, will see the Telefónica-backed squad making it first appearance, on a very interesting, open parcours.

A short, lumpy course (56km, three laps) in Weinfelden, ending almost at twilight on Sunday 17th, and a morning ITT, 26km to Abtwil with significant uphill terrain, on Sunday 18th, will be followed by two more ‘standard’ courses.

Stage three on Monday 19th, with almost +1800m in 120km and two rated ascents -Sitzberg (4km, 6%) and Ricken (7.2km, 4%)-, will take the race to Ebnat-Kappel, where things will end on Tuesday 20th with another series of short, sharp climbs -including 3x Schorüti (Cat-2), 1.4km at almost 8%-.
