Analysis

The 77th edition of the Tour de Romandie will be the spring’s final stop for Enric Mas, before the Spaniard sets his sights on the Grand Tours in the summer. A challenging route, with two time trials and plenty of mountains, will play as last test for the Mallorca native after his efforts in the end of the Volta a Catalunya, finally placed amongst the best.

An ultra-technical prologue -easily a dozen turns into the 2.3km course in Payerne-, Tuesday 23rd, and a hilly 15km ITT around Oron, Friday 26th, will play balance against the two big mountain stages: Les Marécottes (Thursday 25th), over a final 10km at 7.3% from the previous climb to Les Mosses (Cat-2), and Leysin (14km at 6%), end of a Queen stage (Saturday 27th) algo including four rated climbs and 3600m elevation gain.
